Position Description
Operates the bus, observing all laws, rules and regulations, checks the bus before every trip to make sure that it is in safe condition to drive. Reports deficiencies in equipment to the proper authority at once, reports complaints regarding transportation problems that he/she cannot handle to the proper authorities. Makes all reports required by State and local officials. Must be available for driving assignments as determined by the needs of the District Transportation Program.
Essential Qualifications
Applicant needs mechanical sense, skill in operating and handling the bus, knowledge of signs, signals and other safety devices designed to promote traffic safety. Ability to exercise good judgment in driving under all weather, road, and traffic conditions. Ability to maintain good discipline, knowledge of first aid, fire fighting, and the ability to get along with others. All transportation drivers must meet the qualifications set by the state of Oregon and the South Lane School District.

Determined by experience.
