Job Summary

Preschool Promise Educational Assistants are responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in the instruction and supervision of students ages three to five in a fully inclusive classroom. The Educational Assistant assists the teacher in the planning and implementation of curriculum that addresses the cultural, developmental, and learning needs of the whole child: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, linguistic, and preacademic. They collaborate with a classroom team to create a safe, warm, and engaging learning environment for all. In South Lane Preschool Promise, our mission is to lay a strong foundation of early learning so that all children thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

An Educational Assistant in this position must:

Qualifications

All candidates should have training and/or experience in early childhood education or child development, technology skills, collaboration and teaming skills, and be able to employ a variety of developmentally appropriate strategies. Current enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR) and a Step 5 or higher in the Oregon Registry (ORO) preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates who are fluent in Spanish and/or candidates who are bi-cultural or multi-cultural.

Salary

Salary will be determined in accordance with the current salary schedule.
