Position Description
South Lane School District is accepting applications for outstanding candidates for the position of school bus driver.
Essential Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- Required licenses and certificates OR the ability to obtain them within District time frames. These include:
1. Valid State of Oregon Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
2. Medical Examiner's Certificate
3. Oregon Department of Education (ODE) Pupi Transportation Certificate
4. Valid First aid Card
- Ability to operate any and all district buses and bus equipment.
- Ability to drive safely under pressure of time constraints, student misbehavior, hazardous road conditions and traffic demands.
- Puncuality and ability to pace activity to meet time schedules.
- Knowledge of student behavioral management techniques and ability to control large groups of students.
- Ability to represent the district's objectives of courtesy and responsibility to the public.
- Experiences differentiating practices for diverse populations.
- Ability to work effectively and colllaboratively with diverse students, staff and community populations.
- Ability to remain avaialble for daily driving assignments
- Must be available for driver training and/or testing prior to beginning the position.
- Must be able to pass a Federally required Drug and Alcohol test and a pre-employment physical and strength test.
Salary: $19.28-$20.77
Determined by experience.
