The South Lane School District Food Service Department invites applications for Food Service Assistant. Applicants must be available to work at any school.

Job Description

This position with supervision assists in any area of food preparation and service in a school kitchen.  Duties include:

Qualifications

One year of experience in a commercial food service facility and high school diploma or GED preferred.  Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Card within two weeks of employment required.  Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with students of all ages is a must.  Ability to prioritize duties, maintain professional demeanor, and provide excellent customer service during rush periods are required. Understand and follow oral and written instructions and knowledge of proper food handling procedures is essential. Repetitive motion with hands and wrists for an extended period of time, and the ability to lift 50 pounds required. Some food service transport between schools may be required. 

 

Salary

Salary will be determined by experience, based on current salary schedule.
