Cottage Grove High School is seeking a Engineering/Manufacturing teacher starting the 2024-25 school year who is skilled at creating both meaningful relationships and engaging lessons to inspire students to appreciate career-technical education while building their skills and knowledge. This permanent position would be an important part of an experienced and energetic career-technical education department, as well as a school staff with the mission to partner with parents and the community to help students find their direction for their future.

 

Cottage Grove High School has 650 students in grades 9-12 and promotes a welcoming and positive experience for all students. CGHS prides itself in offering students a wide variety of courses, opportunities and experiences to challenge and prepare them for tomorrow. CGHS strives to be a local leader in CTE, technology and instruction.

 

Cottage Grove High School enthusiastically encourages individuals with industry experience to apply for this position. CGHS and South Lane School District will work with Lane ESD to help qualified individuals to earn their CTE teaching license without a traditional teacher education program.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Valid Oregon Teaching Certificate with a Engineering/Manufacturing endorsement (or the ability to obtain)
  • Demonstrated abilities (written and/or oral) to plan and implement instruction a around district curriculum guides
  • Experience with 3D printing, CNC, laser engraving, welding, vinyl cutting, design-build focus
  • Ability to work and communicate with students, teachers, parents and administrators
  • Ability to contribute in a meaningful way with an experienced team of instructors
  • Ability to work collaboratively with local industry and post-secondary partners
  • Design software (CAD, Revit, SolidWorks)

Preferred Qualities

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience teaching manufacturing at the secondary level
  • Construction industry experience
  • Knowledge of Skills USA
  • Course articulation through Lane Community College
  • Coaching and/or club advisor experience
  • ESOL endorsements preferred
  • Evidence of multi-cultural experience and cultural competency
  • Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred

 

Salary
Salary will be determined by the experience and degree level in accordance with the licensed
salary schedule.
